Every once in a while, one man’s vision changes history. When Stan Lee put pen to paper and created the Marvel world of superheroes, he started a conversation that will continue long into the future.

Stan not only created some of the world’s most iconic superheroes – including Spider-Man, Thor and Iron Man – but also tackled issues like drug abuse and racial intolerance.
Stan Lee was not only the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, but a voice for a generation who needed to hear that it was okay to be different. He said: “I feel that if you’re able to entertain, you’re doing a good thing.”

Founded in 1924, the Film & TV Charity supports people working behind the scenes, from production, technical and film crews through to cinema exhibition and distribution. Funded by voluntary income, it provides financial, physical and mental wellbeing support for people in need in the industry.
In April the charity gave over £3.1M in support grants to nearly 2,000 people in urgent need due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The crisis is not over so help is still needed to keep supporting those people behind the scenes of the film and TV industry with phase two of the charity’s recovery fund.
