The funds raised by this campaign will be donated to Maggie's, which is an outstanding charity providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online.
The charity's founder, Maggie Keswick Jencks, used her own experience of having been through cancer to create a new, more personal, type of cancer care. The first Maggie's opened in Edinburgh in 1996, and we now have a network of centres across the UK and abroad. One of the testimonials on their website reads: "I am delighted to be able to signpost patients and their families to the Maggie’s centre at Velindre. Maggie’s offers a warm, informal, supportive and welcoming space for anyone with cancer to drop in and experience their creative programme of support."
